Australia Day Pizza Extravaganza

We made it through our Pizza Day Extravaganza held on Australia day, with no loss of life or limbs. Woo Hoo!! We had 33 people, 14 of them children. Everyone had fun, and yes for us it was a lot of work, but good for us too.

Our garden is flattened, as kids swarmed over bushes like ants over a cream bun at a picnic, but it will recover.  The chef hats and moustache kit Graham got for Christmas was a huge success with both Adults and Kids.

We bought coits and hookey to help keep the kids entertained, and Tim and Lucy brought a cricket set, which was great! Although the prep started early in the day, we were ready to go from Noon and the last folks left at 6:00. The nice thing about pizza entertaining, is the tidy up isn't huge. I made 8 batches of dough in the morning, chopped and set out ingredients, and roasted the veggies, while Graham did the wood chopping, fire starting, lawn mowing and set up. We figured we made around 27 pizza's all up.  We had - ham, motza, parmesan, herbs, roasted red pepper, red pepper, garlic, tomato, wood fire roasted pumpkin, zucchinni and sweet potato, salami, sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms, olives and fresh basil.  we also made desert pizzas with marshmallows, fruit, chocolate chips and coconut cream. Yum.

We tidied up and hit the couch for a well deserved sleep in front of the TV. (including Elwood).
